Well, this was supposed to come out Tuesday, but as you can obviously see, this is Wednesday, so that should give you a clue how the fourth attempt at a new schedule is working out for me.
Oh well!
We do what we can and we deal with it.
Let’s talk today about temptations. Sounds a bit Biblical, doesn’t it?
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Charles Stanley
Again with the religious overtones. I promise this is not a religious blog.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
At least once a week someone suggests that I should write an ebook about writing. They mean well and I understand why they suggest it…and I’m appreciative….but right now, it’s not in my plan.
Someone suggested I do a webinar about writing, and it was a wonderful suggestion…but right now, it’s not in my plan.
When I started writing full-time three years ago, I sat down and made out a five-year plan. It is quite detailed. It takes me step by step through the five years, the things I want to accomplish each year, and the things I need to do to accomplish them. I am right on schedule…but…I wouldn’t be if I took detours every time someone suggested something new.
If I had not experienced some victories, and if I had failed miserably in achieving goals to this point, I would certainly consider new things.
But I’m right on schedule with my plan.
What’s the point?
I think you can figure that out.
I am the only one who can determine my business plan, and I’m the only one who can activate it and decide whether it needs changing. I don’t see any point in messing with success right now. Although all the suggestions I have received have been wonderful….
They are not in my plan.
Do you have a plan?
TIP OF THE DAY
You guessed it. If you have goals then you need a plan. I don’t know how to say that in a clearer way. Naturally, if you simply write for the pure joy of writing, then a plan is not necessary. But if you have goals in mind, then I strongly suggest you sit down and hammer out a game plan.
WRITER OF THE DAY
I’m all about supporting writers, and I love to highlight new writers I discover, so here is one I think you will enjoy. Her name is Brie Hoffman and you can find her here.
CONTEST OF THE DAY
Big Pond Rumours has a poetry and prose contest and they are currently accepting submissions. The entry fee is only $7 and I believe the deadline is the end of November. Find it here.
PROMPT OF THE DAY
The picture speaks of fall. The prompt is this: Remember a lovely walk you took on a fall afternoon. What do you see, feel, hear, smell, and taste?
MORE ANOTHER TIME
I don’t have a clue when the next blog entry will appear. I hope I have it figured out soon because I love uniformity in my life, and I think it helps my followers to expect things on certain days. So stay tuned and we’ll find out together.
Have a wonderful day of writing. Remember that what you do is special, so treat it like a precious gift.
