Happy Tuesday to you all! I hope this finds you all refreshed and ready to create something beautiful with your words. I spent the past weekend getting ready for winter. I had to put some tar paper on the quail roof, and we picked up a cord of wood, which still has to be split. We cleaned out the wood stove, and a few other chores, and I think we can safely say “bring it on” to old man winter.
And, in a metaphorical sense, that is the topic of today’s blog….embracing change and being ready for it.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Steve Jobs
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
As writers, we have that luxury that Jobs spoke of. If we are not enjoying what we are doing as writers, then we can change. If it doesn’t feel right, then we can change.
I think, since I began this journey as a freelance writer three years ago, I’ve had six different blogs. I would start one, and write in it for a couple months, and then it would cease to thrill me, and I would discontinue it.
I write at least eight hours each day, five days a week, so I’d better enjoy what I’m doing. Thus, I’m willing to change when I don’t enjoy it. Today I love writing novels, but if the day comes when I no longer enjoy that, then I’ll make the change and find another outlet for my writing….but I will keep writing, because I’m a writer and that’s what writers do.
TIP OF THE DAY
Is everything working for you? Are you pleased with your progress so far?
Stop and evaluate how it’s all going for you, and determine if you need to make a change in your writing career.
WRITER OF THE DAY
Say hello to my friend Randi from Arizona. On HubPages she goes by btrbell and you can find her here.
ARTICLE OF THE DAY
Say hello to another friend of mine, Jen, who writes a beautiful article here about overcoming traumatic brain injury. This article is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
PROMPT OF THE DAY
January is National Spouses Day in the U.S. I mention that because if you are a freelance writer, trying to sell articles or increase your views, you need to think ahead on the calendar. Write now for January and beyond. If you wait until January you have missed the proverbial boat.
UNTIL NEXT TIME
I’m kind of rushed today, so you’ll have to forgive me for making this short….or you won’t forgive me, in which case, there is nothing I can do. J Have a great day of writing and I’ll see you down the road.
